Today marked a significant milestone as Civify officially launched its platform in partnership with the City of New Haven, Indiana, through the new community hub, ActivateNewHaven.com. The press conference, led by Zach Washler, New Haven's Director of Community Development, attracted multiple news outlets, including coverage by FOX 55 Fort Wayne, The Journal Gazette, 21 Alive News and Wane, setting the stage for a new era of communication and transparency between the city and its residents.
Founder James Reitz Introduces Civify’s Impact
Civify’s founder, James Reitz, took the opportunity to speak about the platform's vision and the enhanced communication channels it provides for the people of New Haven. Reitz emphasized the importance of community-driven technology, stating, "As a Fort Wayne-based tech company, I’m thrilled to be here today to launch our platform with the City of New Haven. Civify is a community transparency platform designed to make communication between cities and residents more seamless and accessible.”
During a live demo, James showcased Civify’s core features, demonstrating how easy it is for residents to stay informed about city projects, important announcements, and real-time updates, all from the convenience of a mobile app. By selecting the “Subscribe” button, residents can opt into location-based notifications, enabling New Haven officials to target updates that are most relevant to specific neighborhoods and areas.
Engaging the Community with a Trick-or-Treat Twist
After the press conference, James joined New Haven Mayor Steve McMichael to connect directly with the community by handing out candy and trick-or-treat bags stuffed with marketing materials promoting Activate New Haven. Braving a rainy day, James and Mayor McMichael distributed over 1000 trick-or-treat bags, putting the word about Civify’s platform directly into residents' hands and adding a festive touch to the day’s launch.
A Versatile Platform for All Residents
Civify’s platform provides a variety of alert options—emails, text messages, and automated calls—ensuring that every resident can receive crucial information in the format that works best for them. This flexibility is especially important in ensuring all demographics stay connected with local news, developments, and urgent alerts, creating a more inclusive community engagement experience.
Building Stronger Connections through Transparency
With ActivateNewHaven.com, the City of New Haven and Civify have solidified a shared commitment to transparency and proactive communication. In his remarks, James expressed gratitude for the city’s support, saying, “This launch represents an exciting step forward in communication, and I want to thank Mayor McMichael and his staff for their partnership and shared commitment to transparency. We’re excited to bring Civify to the community and look forward to its positive impact here in New Haven.”
Looking Forward
The successful launch of ActivateNewHaven.com is only the beginning. With Civify’s technology in place, residents will be more connected to their community than ever before, and local government officials will have an effective tool to foster engagement and keep residents informed about the projects and issues that matter most.
